Election Time: People are Rude & Disrespectful

BRACE yourselves this may be long to some of you! : )

Every Election season…it seems to bring out the worse in people…this election…I think it’s the worse I’ve seen (or I should say I have noticed!) People are so cruel!

It should not matter who one votes for – they do not deserve to be ridiculed. We all have very different views and opinions! Don't we live in a FREE country!? So we ALL should be able to VOTE for whomever we choose! Our vote should be based upon what that person stands for and what we agree with, etc. Secondly, you shouldn’t feel forced to vote for one particular person! All of these strategies people are using to get people to vote for their candidate is very sad and it shows their character. For example: If you don’t vote for my guy, you will be fired. Really!? I honestly, would rather not vote in this election but I know that I have to b/c I do live in this world!

A lot of people are saying negative stuff like – I’m tired of bailing out people. As believers, aren’t we suppose to help the poor!? Proverbs 29:7 reads, “The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.” Yes, I know a lot of people do take advantage of the system. This is true AND those particular people need to stop taking advantage!

2 Thessalonians 3: 10-15 (MSG) reads: “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” Get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn your own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty. We should, point out such a person and refuse to subsidize his freeloading. Maybe then he’ll think twice. But don’t treat him as an enemy. Sit him down and talk about the problem as someone who cares.

On the flip side, there are a lot of people who do not take advantage and who really need assistance of some type. Think of the real homeless people on the streets. A lot of them don’t ask for anything. Some do but not all!

As a single parent, who is solely responsible for taking care of my child. It has been rough and they were times, I wished I had some assistance to help out. For example, b/c of the expense of medical insurance I couldn’t afford to cover my child…in those times…I’m like LORD don’t let my child get sick!! However, b/c of MY FAITH we have been ok. Not in the best situation trust me…BUT things could be a lot worse! AND to those who like to say…well you should have thought about that before you had a kid “Judging are we or are you saying I should have aborted my child!?” You do not know how people become pregnant AND we do not always know how the other person will be in the future “married or not” - we just go by assumptions. *I'm not asking for a handout. I'm just saying...believe me, everything I have, I have worked for!!!*

I’m not endorsing either candidate. I’m just saying…STOP being so judgmental/critical, rude and disrespectful!

At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter who is elected in some aspects. It’s still going to take some time for the economy to turn around AND in that we as believers – have to TRUST GOD to provide for all of our needs - as we should be doing anyway!

Galatians 6:9 reads: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Romans 8:28 reads: And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God...
