Doing Our Thing

A few years ago, I had a meeting with some people in the Entertainment industry. After church, I went home quickly and changed my clothes to make it to the restaurant; where the meeting was to be held. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the people weren’t there and they hadn’t made a reservation. So, I contacted them. They said they were on their way and asked if I could make a reservation. So, I was able to make the reservation. I got the table and they finally arrived maybe 30 mins later. Once they arrived and they were all seated. The servers brought out drinks, etc. Then they decided that they didn’t want to eat there. They wanted to go somewhere else. If you could have seen the look on my face! I was mad. Like how the heck, you're LATE. Wasted my time…and now you want to go somewhere else. Seriously. I don’t have time to be driving all around town. I didn't say those things. Lol, but I was furious. They all got up from the table…and I just sat there for a moment…to hmm take a breather… Then, I did finally get up…but I told them I was not going to another restaurant and anything they wanted me to know…to email me later. I had other things to attend to. In my Sweet Brown's voice: Ain't nobody got time for that!

I thought about this the other day and it made me think. If I felt, how I felt in that situation...how does God feel when we disobey Him? By not listening and doing as He instructs us to do. When He asks us to do something; tell us to be somewhere - we don't do it or go. Simple b/c it wasn't something we wanted to do; we thought it was going to be too hard; or we didn't like how it look. Can you imagine how He must feel?  Man. I mean, we don't even have to make the reservation He has everything laid out for us. [Jeremiah 29:11] All we gotta do is show up and we can't even do that. Then, we complain when we are struggling with this and that. When God is like...well if you had done what I told you to do...you wouldn't be in that position.

So, though we may want to do our own thing. Ultimately, whatever God has set for us to do...is what will prevail and bring forth unspeakable JOY and a multitude of blessings in our lives.

So, I say to you: Stay Faithful to God and He will Stay Faithful to YOU!

Love, Peace & Christ brings out the True Beauty in YOU!
