Be Known by Your Fruits

I was speaking to someone recently. They were saying how these young folks need to get their act together and start going to church, etc. My response: Your lifestyle is what will bring them in!! If they don’t see any POSITIVE FRUITS from those trying to convince them that following Christ is the way to go. They are not going to. I mean why would they? The bible says: do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. It also states: You will know them by their fruits.& Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

So, if everyone around you talks about how much they love Jesus. Yet, while they are telling you – you need to go to church. They are living in SIN. Sleeping with people and not married. Having multiple children all across the pond. Having adulterous affairs. Pastors/Ministers/Leaders having sex and flirting with members in their congregation while married. Smoking, drinking and cussing. Partying in a negative way. Always complaining. Always gossiping about other folks. Always talking about they are broke. <- I mean really who would want to follow your GOD because obviously your God must not be all that…if that is your character and your life.

Yes, we have seasons when finances are not the best and things do go wrong. BUT as Believers of Christ, truly living for Christ, in RIGHT standing with Him, we don’t stay there. When we truly SEEK & TRUST God, He directs our footsteps and comes through for us. When we are obedient, blessings will come upon us and overtake us. Read Deuteronomy 28 – to KNOW about the Blessings when we are Obedient & Curses when we are Disobedient.

For me, when I knew I wasn’t living right. I was not sharing the Gospel in this aspect like I am now. When I did slip up and had sex back in 2012. I was quiet on Social Media in sharing scriptures and certain things, etc. I knew others didn’t know what I was doing but I knew and I am a firm believer in you better be practicing what you tell others to do. I am convicted, when I do wrong. I also believe if you are not living right in the eyes of God and you are a Minister/Preacher, etc. You should step away and get yourself together. So, you are not a hypocrite. Saying one thing and doing/living another way. God is a FORGIVER and will RESTORE you once you acknowledge you have sinned AND turn away from it.

"Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, "I will confess my rebellion to the LORD." And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone."        Psalm 32:5

I had to take a DEEP look at the situations in my life. Be HONEST with myself and my actions and ASK God what is it that I am doing wrong- when I feel like I am doing right? Why is this happening to me? Why is this not happening for me? And when I ask He shows and tell me what it is… then after knowing the Truth, I have to get it RIGHT with God. So, I can receive my blessings.

So, ask yourself am I living right? Will people want to follow my God by my lifestyle and my actions? If not, get it right!!

My Pastor and his wife started their own church this year in January 2014. They started with 2,000+ members. Who does that!? Most people who start a church barely have a 100 people, they put up signs everywhere for Marketing purposes. My Pastor didn’t do that…all him and his wife did was posted a status update on facebook - that was shared. That’s it! And to have over a 1,000 people believe in you and your Ministry in the beginning. That is a blessing, in itself! They are known by their FRUITS!

Allow people to know you by your fruits. Then they will know your God and will want to Follow your God! Also remember, just because someone goes to church that does not mean they are living right! You will know them by their FRUITS!
