Why Pray?

Prayer is the key to the heart of God. Prayer is the only way to have a real and personal relationship with God.

Pray acknowledging He is God, and that you accept His gracious gift, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior. Genesis 17:1, Romans 6:16-18

Pray confessing our sins and accepting His forgiveness. Romans 3:23-26

Pray that His will be done in our lives, that His Holy Spirit guide us, and that we be filled with the fullness of all God has for us.

Pray for (spiritual) understanding and wisdom. Proverbs 2:6-8, Proverbs 3:5

Pray with thanksgiving for all the ways He blesses us. Philippians 4:6 Pray when we are ill, lonely, going through trials or interceding for others. James 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Pray to worship Him. Psalm 95:6-7

If the current world status isn’t enough to make you pray… then you need to pray. ;-) When we don’t pray; we don’t get to experience God’s power in our lives nor do we get to have a relationship with Him. Families are being ruined, marriages are failing, abortion is rising in some areas, children are being misled, parents are killing children, children are killing parents, our government continues to get worse and so much more. I could go on and on about all that’s wrong in our world. Many people are walking away from the faith… because when you don’t pray… you don’t get strengthened by His power and you don’t have a relationship with Him. It’s easier to walk away from something when you don’t have a relationship with them.

When you don’t pray; you don’t know whose you are or who you are. You become hopeless. You become discouraged. You believe the lies of the enemies. Prayer allows you to fight the good fight of faith, knowing that there is someone fighting along with you and that you are not alone. Someone, who will strengthen you to fulfill the tasks before you. Someone who will guide you; who will make a way out of no way; that will protect you. When you don’t pray; you lose your protection, you lose your power. Praying helps you to remove the fear and to continue on your journey, knowing that God is with you and He will instruct you in the way you should go and keep you. When you don’t pray; you don’t get to experience that. So why pray because it’s your strength!
